Domaine Les Fouques Cuvee Tradition Rose 2025

THE WINES

80% Grenache, 20% Cinsault.

Another release defined by crisp mineral lines.  It maintains the flesh, density and vinosity of previous releases, though offers far more mineral and acid definition.  Defined by rockmelon and peach fruit flavours, there’s a big additional presence of red fruits – Jonathan apple skins and wild strawberries particularly, with a big pop of garrigue herbs, both aromatically and on the palate.  Finishes fabulously with a cleansing mineral edge, we’re absolutely loving the evolved personality of this wine.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Domaine Les Fouques

Provence La Londe

A Rare Provençal Biodynamic Estate

Biodynamic viticulture is of surprising rarity in the Provence region given the ideal sunny and windy conditions; one outstanding practitioner is the tiny property of Domaine les Fouques, run by Yves Gros, with the wine made by daughter Christelle. Guinea fowl and chickens are also farmed here. At a mere 17 hectares and in a stunning setting, a visit here offers a somewhat mystical quality.

We are delighted to be now importing all three rosé cuvées from Fouques. These are terroir wines, make no mistake. There are consistencies of quality and style (the peach, melon and slate as the site’s signature) with vintage as the variable. Taste (or drink!) the set together and see concentration and complexity ramp up. Wines transparent of vintage and place – sound like great Burgundy, Barolo or Mosel? This serious and magnificent producer challenges many perceptions and norms of rosé.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Biodynamic Minimal Intervention Wines From A Beautiful Adelaide Hills Estate

Owner Damon Nagel started life as a sommelier in Adelaide, moving to London to further his wine education whilst working in top end dining restaurants. Achieving success in London property, he would eventually return to Adelaide, purchasing the beautiful undulating Brackenwood farm in the early 2000s, first releasing wines from vintage 2005.

Winemaking is today overseen by Daniel Zuzolo, ex Primo Estate, with the stable offering interesting blends and lesser seen plantings of Barbera and Gamay alongside more traditional offerings such as Shiraz and Riesling.

Growing and winemaking is strictly along biodynamic lines, with no additions bar minimal sulphur at bottling. A pure set of releases very much at home alongside Felixir’s European offerings, fun styles of personality with enough depth and interest to be taken seriously.
